Just a sampling of the type of accolades Dr. Mark
receives from his patients:

“Since Dr. Mark Eisen has become our family physician we have had superior results. Without any knowledge of Anthroposophical Medicine, I've been amazed at how it has alleviated  several symptoms of both acute and chronic health conditions.  He spends 30-60 minutes per visit and offers us an individualized treatment approach with both traditional and anthroposophical medicine.
I always opt for the anthroposophical approach, since I have been through my share of doctors that spend 5 minutes with you, hand you a drug prescription, and tell you to return if it doesn’t work. He offers us a safe, non-invasive, drug-free approach for all of our ailments. So far, in every instance I have achieved results that western medicine alone could not make happen.  In addition, the office is quiet and the staff is personable and friendly.”

“I first saw Mark Eisen, M.D. (who we fondly came to know as Dr. Mark) when my now 12 year old daughter was approximately 18 months old. Despite being solely breast fed for six months, my daughter had struggled with innumerable ear infections and had “graduated” from the standard regime of antibiotics to the “gold standard” antibiotic (or the “big guns” as I like to call them).  I was very concerned about the effects of strong antibiotics on her very small body.  My father, a very traditional urologist trained at Duke School of Medicine, had always drummed into me that medications are not to be taken lightly as they always have consequences.  (And this was long before the unforeseen consequences of antibiotics were well documented).  As I became increasingly distraught about my daughter’s ear infections, a dear friend told me that if I was ever interested in pursuing alternative medicine, my daughter’s ear infections would be a good place to start.  I told her I would try anything but was unwilling to take my daughter to anyone who was not a traditionally trained medical doctor with a valid medical license.  She recommended Dr. Mark Eisen.
From that first appointment for my daughter through a life-threatening illness of my own, I have seen Dr. Mark more times than I care to count.  I am always thankful to have been directed to him and know that my life (and that of my family) literally has many times depended upon his knowledge, wisdom and innate understanding of health and human beings.  I do not say this lightly and want to explain why I would recommend Dr. Eisen for any health related issue one might encounter.
I very much embrace the alternative paths that we have often taken with Dr. Eisen’s guidance.  However, perhaps because of growing up in a medical family as well as having a Ph.D. myself, I have felt it to be important that my physician understands “both worlds,” that of traditional Western medicine as well as alternative medical paradigms.  Dr. Eisen is unique in my experience in this way.  With every patient encounter he is able to bridge what are, at times, huge gulfs between Western medicine and alternative treatments.  As with my own illness, he is able to support traditional medical treatments with the remedies and recommendations he prescribes.  Probably most important to me is that Dr. Eisen knows that health and well-being are about so much more than what happens to the physical body.  Dr. Eisen has a remarkable understanding of the ways in which the non-physical —regardless of how you may see those other aspects of ourselves—dramatically affect our physical being.  Dr. Eisen’s ability to “see within” and “see deeply” as he talks to me about current ailments never ceases to amaze me.  After being in his care for the past 10+ years, every visit I make to a traditional medical doctor seems incomplete and superficial in many ways.  After a visit to Dr. Eisen, I always feel that I have been educated about myself as a human being as well as about what is happening to my physical body.  I walk away feeling respected, supported and known which is indeed a miracle in the world of medicine today.
Oh yes, and after beginning treatment with Dr. Mark, my daughter never again took antibiotics for an ear infection (or anything else).  She is now a tremendously strong, integrated, grounded and healthy preteen whose health I totally entrust to Dr. Mark.  I wish my own childhood health had been so well-supported.  Medical care with Dr. Mark is a gift I give my daughter so that her health and well-being are strengthened and enhanced.
Furthermore, her experience with Dr. Mark enables her to participate fully and confidently in her own health and self-care.  That is a gift we all should be given.  Thank you Dr. Mark!!”

“My family and I have been patients of Dr. Mark Eisen for thirteen years.  Within a month of moving to the area my then 5 year old daughter contracted pneumonia with a significant fever.  Dr. Eisen gave us homeopathic and herbal medications, prescribed mustard wraps and sent a nurse to our home to demonstrate how to do them. He phoned us at least three times a day to see how she was doing.  Our new neighbors thought we were crazy, but I was confident that, if need be, Dr. Eisen would start antibiotics or take whatever steps necessary to see us through the illness safely. As it turned out, within a few days the pneumonia was almost completely gone.  I was invited to listen to her lungs when she was first diagnosed – and then again on the fourth day when barely a trace of illness remained.  He is the only doctor we’ve known who actively educated us as we went through the illness. He demonstrated the findings of her pneumonia and made it clear why an X-ray was not needed at the time of diagnosis.
Dr. Eisen has a huge range of healing tools at his disposal: Western medicine (MD from Michigan, Family Practice Residency at Duke); Anthroposophical medicine (trained during and after medical school in the US and Germany), homeopathy, art, music, and an remarkable ability to use what I call intuition or insight to get to the heart of what his patient needs.
His approach is unusual.  He asks unexpected questions (do you dream in color or black and white?) and his visits are long.  How else can a doctor truly uncover what needs attention?
There are definitely times when Western medicine and approaches are needed, but not always.  I trust Dr. Eisen to discern the difference.
But be prepared;  this special physician’s approach  may fly in the face of many of your preconceived ideas of what a doctor should look like, act like and talk like...thankfully!”
